Getting an impressive start from Ed Payne, Dallas beat Los Angeles by the score of 6-2. Dallas reliever Jack Pace, the 17th overall pick in the 1970 draft, was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-1. Phil Lester took the loss for Los Angeles. The second-place Pobladores have dropped 4 straight games.

Dallas used the timely hitting of Rick Adams to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
