San Francisco pitcher Pete Ragsdale had a large part in his team subduing the Chicago Hawks, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The Seagulls now have a record of 81-58 with the win over Chicago.

San Francisco second baseman Tom Kendall contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 54th hit of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 4-2.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Kendall told the San Francisco Daily News.
