The Dallas Wranglers had to overcome a good performance from Los Angeles pitcher Bob Powell to claim a 3-2 win at San Vicente Park. Powell went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. Dallas pitcher Frank Dunn earned the win, hiking his record to 6-13. Bob Powell suffered the loss. Los Angeles, at 76-66, has lost 5 straight.

Dallas used the timely hitting of Rick Adams to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Los Angeles skipper Kurt Peterson.
