Wolverines Topple Terriers with Late Rally
Boston got a big-time effort from pitcher Alex Alonso, but it wasn't enough to keep the Detroit Wolverines from winning the game, 8-4. Alonso threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Detroit reliever Alfredo Morales picked up the win, raising his record to 4-6. Bill Falcon was tagged with the loss. Detroit is now 76-66.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Brian Cook to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wolverines on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Cook.
