Spirited fans greeted the San Francisco Seagulls for their clash with the Chicago Hawks.

Sergio Morales impressed in the 9-2 Chicago win over San Francisco. Morales, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in hits with 145, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Hawks go to 57-86 with the win.

Paul Backer had a big solo home run for the Hawks in the top of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a cutter from fan favorite Tim Stambaugh and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 2-0.

Said losing manager Al Borie: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
