Shurtleff Silences Detroit Bats
|
Bruce Shurtleff, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in innings pitched with 221.1, never let the Wolverines get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Terriers to a win, 1-0. Tim Jepperson earned the save, his 17th, for the Terriers. The loss makes Detroit 84-59.
Shurtleff, now 15-10, scattered 5 hits over 8 innings for the Terriers.
"Glad to get this win," said Shurtleff. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
