The Detroit Wolverines trumped the New York Empires, 6-2, at Wolverine Field. Detroit right fielder Pete Morrison was terrific. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win hiked the Detroit record to 88-54.

Catcher John Zimmerman made an impact for Detroit, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Larry Stanford in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Zimmerman went 2 for 3 with a double.

Detroit manager Alex Wobbema called it "a pretty good win."
