Industrials Sunk by Knickerbockers
|
New York Knickerbockers starter Chris Hull turned in an exceptional performance against the Pittsburgh Industrials at Allegheny Field, resulting in a New York win, 4-2. Bruce Elsner notched his 2nd save in 6 chances. The victory gives New York a record of 76-66.
With New York trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Hull hit a curveball from Gene Steinhauer for a bases-clearing double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 3-1.
"Chris throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
