The Brooklyn Bluebirds faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Alex Fonseca, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Monument Field by a final score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Fonseca went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Bluebirds go to 58-84 with the win.
Billy Jo Anderson had a direct impact on the outcome. Anderson contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the 11th inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-2.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Washington manager Juan Placeholder.
