Philadelphia Quakers right-hander John Foster pitched a good game against the New York Knickerbockers at Quakers Stadium, leading his team to victory, 3-2. The win went to Joe Sclafani in relief, making him now 2-3. Wayne Houston took the loss for New York. Philadelphia has now won 4 games in a row.

Philadelphia got a clutch hit from Tom Clark. The right fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

Afterward, Quakers manager Jeff Green was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
