Bulls Drop Burros, 4-3
|
The 1971 season is off to a good start for the Kansas City Bulls. The hometown Bulls dumped the Denver Burros, 4-3, at Independence Field. Rod Kremer spearheaded the win. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. Kansas City reliever Mario Caldera got the win, raising his record to 1-0. John Gannon was tagged with the loss.
With Kansas City trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Kremer hit a changeup from John Gannon for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Bulls ahead, 3-2.
Kremer told a Kansas City Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
