Hurons Rack Up 5-2 Win Versus Chicago
|
The Toronto Hurons picked up a win at Dominion Field, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 5-2. Starting pitcher Bill John played a key role in the triumph. John got the win, improving to 10-13. He gave up 8 hits and walked 4 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The 6th-place Hurons have won 4 consecutive games.
Jorge Luna went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Toronto. The seven-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Mike Haskett. It was his 148th hit of the season.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Luna.
