Los Angeles Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
Ray Heath, who finished 5th in the NBL in wins with 17 in 1971, was locked in. The right-hander led the San Francisco Seagulls to a 3-0 win against the Los Angeles Pobladores at Mission Field. Mike Silver finished to wrap up his 1st save. San Francisco is now 10-5.

San Francisco went up, 1-0, on Bob Russell's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Russell hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Los Angeles pitcher Phil Lester shaking his head.

"Ray kept his poise and got the job done," said San Francisco manager Al Borie. "He was outstanding."
