Emeralds Rally to Win, 1-0
|
Seattle and Chicago scratched and clawed until someone claimed the prize.
The Seattle Emeralds picked up a win at Hyde Park Stadium, downing the Chicago Hawks, 1-0, in 11 innings. On the mound for Seattle was right-hander Phil Moore, who played a pivotal role in the win. Seattle reliever Dooley Brewer picked up the win, upping his record to 3-6. Tanner Latour was saddled with the loss.
Dennis England had a direct impact on the outcome. England contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 11th inning to put Seattle up, 1-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Mike Flaherty. "That was the problem."
The win lifted the Seattle record to 74-70.
