Knickerbockers Victorious at Philadelphia, 4-0
|
The New York Knickerbockers beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 4-0. New York pitcher and Centennial, Colorado, native Ray Schifsky led the way. Schifsky picked up the win for New York, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 11-6. With the win, New York raised its record to 81-62.
New York used a well-timed hit by Steve Hudson to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Feels good to get the job done," Hudson said after the game.
