Atlanta Beats Montreal, 7-5
|
The Atlanta Generals locked up a win at LaSalle Stadium, knocking off the Montreal Habitants, 7-5. On the mound for Atlanta was right-hander Ron Cwiklinski. He played a major role in the triumph. Picking up the save was Ron Winder. He's now 9 for 11 in save chances. The loss makes Montreal 77-66.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Generals catcher Ron Bullins hit a fastball from Jeff Hess for a 2-run single. Just like that, Atlanta was up, 2-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bullins told the Atlanta Bulletin.
