Drillers Clip Seagulls, 4-3
|
Reggie Wright pitched well, but the San Francisco Seagulls still lost the game, falling, 4-3, to the Houston Drillers at Sam Houston Field. Reliever Oscar Contreras picked up the win. His record improves to 6-7. Reggie Wright, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1967, took the loss. With the win, Houston raised its record to 81-63.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mark Sisson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Reggie Wright to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.
Said Sisson: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
