Blockbusters Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters did just enough to nip the Kansas City Bulls, 6-5, in 11 innings. Los Angeles pitcher Larry Messenger, in particular, had a standout performance. The Blockbusters now have a record of 64-80 with the win over Kansas City.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ernie Ronnebaum in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Jorge Corona to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Ronnebaum said.
