Scherf Lifts Bobcats to Win
|
Cleveland starter Roger Scherf put the New York offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Bobcats to a 5-1 win. Cleveland now sits at 69-76, while New York falls to 72-72.
Scherf, the winner, is now 10-8. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 5 Ks. He essentially shut down the New York offense.
"Once I cross that chalk line, I'm all business," said Scherf.
