The Chicago Hawks picked up a win at Hyde Park Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Emeralds, 5-4, in 11 innings. Starting pitcher Ken Eldridge played a key role in the triumph. Seattle, with the loss, is 8-6.

The Hawks got a clutch hit from third baseman Felipe Chavez. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hawks.

"Ken is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Chicago manager Mike Flaherty.
