Hawks left fielder Bobby Strange left his imprint on his team's 11-2 win over the Dallas Wranglers. Strange went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Chicago in the contest. With the win over Dallas, the Hawks improved to 54-91.

Buck DeFalco had a big 2-run triple for the Hawks in the bottom of the third inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from three-time All-Star Steve Coomes and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 9th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 3-0.

Dallas manager William Albrecht said "nothing went right"in the blowout loss.
