The Chicago Traders clipped the Milwaukee Dairymen, 5-4, in 14 innings at Union Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Missouri City, Texas, native Bobby Peters. Chicago reliever Craig Hardage picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ken Brown absorbed the loss. Chicago is now 79-67, Milwaukee 49-98.

Chicago won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With no outs and Ken Brown on the mound for Milwaukee, right fielder Larry Cox hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Traders fans to their feet.

"This place sure got loud," said Larry Link, the Chicago manager.
