The Kansas City Bulls turned back the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 3-2, at Independence Field. Chris Taylor, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kansas City starter Tim McDonald was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 12-11. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Crosby.
Taylor had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run single. The Bulls went on to win.
Taylor said his team "played with determination."
The Bulls improved their record to 85-61 by beating Los Angeles.
