Dallas pitcher Barry Gilmore had a large part in his team subduing the Houston Drillers, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Gilmore picked up the win for Dallas, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Earning his 1st save of the year was Ken Craig.

Dallas took a 4-2 lead on Steve Price's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Price hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Houston pitcher Gary Decker visibly frustrated.

"Barry was really on it," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."

Houston falls to 8-7.
