Traders Beat Explorers, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Bobby Peters gave the Chicago Traders a rock-solid effort. The Missouri City, Texas native helped his team defeat the St. Louis Explorers, 3-2, at Union Field. St. Louis has now lost 5 consecutive games.
Ed White had a big 2-run home run for the Traders in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from top prospect Tommie Jones and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Traders on top, 3-0.
"Bobby was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Chicago manager Larry Link.
