Taylor Leads Bulls to 7-2 Win Over Explorers
|
The Kansas City Bulls defeated the St. Louis Explorers, 7-2, at Independence Field. Leading the charge for Kansas City was first baseman Chris Taylor. He was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Mike Brown, the winner, is now 15-9. He struck out 8 and walked 1 over 8 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The Bulls, at 83-64, sit in second place in the National Baseball League Western Division.
The Bulls got a big at-bat from left fielder Haskell McLemore. For the game, McLemore went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 33rd home run of the season gave Kansas City a 4-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McLemore said.
