Packers Rally to Nose Past Washington
|
The Cincinnati Packers used the hitting of catcher Darrell Davis to subdue the Washington Eagles, 6-5. For the game, Davis went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Cincinnati starter Fernando Lopez was credited with the win after throwing 116 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 10-12. Picking up the save was Jimmy Bell. He's now 1 for 1 in save chances.
Cincinnati used a timely hit from George Borowy to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Packers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"I do my best to contribute," said Borowy.
The 6th-place Packers sport a record of 65-81.
