The Los Angeles Pobladores knocked off the Twin Cities Northmen, 6-3, at San Vicente Park. Manuel Castillo was a big reason Los Angeles won. The second baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Shane Frassrand, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. Los Angeles is second in the American Baseball League Western Division with a record of 82-65.

The Pobladores got a big hit from right fielder Roger McCoy. In the bottom of the sixth, McCoy smacked a 2-run double off Twin Cities pitcher Gerald Gross. It was his 33rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Pobladores were ahead, 4-3.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Los Angeles manager Alex Wobbema.
