The Detroit Wolverines beat the Atlanta Generals, 12-7, at Atlantic Station Field. The win was due in part to right fielder Jerry Plumley, who went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Detroit reliever Doug Fiorentino snagged the win, upping his record to 4-5. Gary Ovitt shouldered the loss. Detroit has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

In the top of the fifth, Detroit shortstop Dave Cox had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out, Cox stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 5-4, Detroit. For the game, he went 1-4 with a walk.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Kurt Peterson.
