Hurons Deal Baltimore 3-1 Defeat
|
Dan Crumm, who finished 2nd in the ABL in strikeouts with 211 in 1969, never let the Lords get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Hurons to a win, 3-1. Toronto sits in 6th place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division at 69-78.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Roberto Hinojosa? The Toronto second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hurons on top, 1-0. For the game, Hinojosa had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Toronto manager Jim Burns commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
