In a tight contest between the New York Knickerbockers and the Brooklyn Bluebirds, Chris Hull was the determining factor. The New York right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Hull, now 15-9. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Ollie Hundley was credited with the save for New York, his 34th of the season.

Diego Mateo came through with a big-time hit for New York. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
