Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Dallas Wranglers take on the Twin Cities Northmen.

The Dallas Wranglers got a good effort from starter Steve Coomes in defeating the Twin Cities Northmen at Bluff Park. The final score was 3-2. The winner was Coomes. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Dave Church.

Left Fielder Ron Mitchell made an impact for Dallas, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Dave Church in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Mitchell went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.

"Every loss stings," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim. "This one is no exception."

The Wranglers, at 74-74, sit in 5th place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
