The Los Angeles Pobladores defeated the San Francisco Seagulls, 6-4, at San Vicente Park. Los Angeles catcher Buddy Bursley had a superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Los Angeles starter Phil Lester was credited with the win after throwing 124 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 16-7. Leon Fairley collected his 22nd save.
The Pobladores got a big at-bat from second baseman Manuel Castillo. For the game, Castillo was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bursley said.
The win for the Pobladores raised their record to 79-69.
