Guest Seagulls Win, 2-1, at Seattle

In a low-scoring affair between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Seattle Emeralds, pitcher Bernie Underwood was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Francisco right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Seagulls win. The first-place Seagulls, at 88-60, now lead their division by 2½ games.
The Seagulls got a big at-bat from third baseman Scott Wagner. For the game, Wagner was 2-4 with 2 doubles. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 27th double of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.
"Tough loss," said Seattle manager Mark Velez. "This one will sting for a while."
