Industrials Win at Home, 9-6
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials knocked off the New York Knickerbockers, 9-6, in National Baseball League action at Allegheny Field. Pittsburgh pitcher and San Diego, California, native Jeff Munoz had an outstanding performance. Munoz, now 13-10, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 5 runs. Pittsburgh is now 83-65, New York 72-75.
Earl Yates helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the pinch hitter drove in one run.
