The Atlanta Generals topped the Dallas Wranglers, 8-3, at Bluff Park. Atlanta second baseman Tom Martucci was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win for the Generals raised their record to 80-68.
Jose Nova provided a timely hit. The Atlanta right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager William Albrecht.
