Knickerbockers Deal Cincinnati 2-0 Defeat
The New York Knickerbockers and Cincinnati Packers put on a pitchers' duel.

The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Roman Arena, knocking off the Cincinnati Packers, 2-0. Starting pitcher Jack Forbes played a key role in the triumph. Picking up the save was two-time All-Star Ollie Hundley.

In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, Forbes came to the plate. He hit a sacrifice fly off Erv Koenig to put the Knickerbockers in the lead, 1-0.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Forbes. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."

The Knickerbockers improved their record to 74-75 with the win over Cincinnati.
