Packers Lose Again, 5-1, to Knickerbockers
The New York Knickerbockers downed the Cincinnati Packers, 5-1, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Francisco Chavez led the way, going 2-for-3 for New York. Picking up the win was Chris Hull. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 1. The slumping Packers have dropped 7 in a row.

With New York leading 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Chavez hit a 2-run single off Cincinnati hurler Armando Estrada. It was the 147th hit of the season for Chavez and put his team ahead, 5-1.

"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch.
