Behind the bravura of right fielder Carl Jacobs, the Twin Cities Northmen topped the Chicago Hawks by the score of 13-6. Jacobs went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Northmen. Jeff Jordan wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save. The last-place Hawks dropped to 59-89.

With Twin Cities leading 4-3 in the top of the second, Jacobs hit a fastball from Ken Eldridge for a 2-run double. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Northmen ahead, 6-3.

Jacobs told a Twin Cities Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
