The Denver Burros converted a terrific effort from starter John Gannon into a win over the Los Angeles Blockbusters at Blockbuster Stadium. The Burros won the game by a final score of 9-2. Gannon yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-1. Denver goes to 8-8.

Denver used a well-timed hit by John Crabtree to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Burros ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager John Trausch.
