The Boston Terriers withstood an impressive performance by New York catcher Eddie Ellison to defeat the Empires, 6-5, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Ellison was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Boston has a record of 62-88. New York falls to 84-66.

Mike Cash was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Terriers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Cash said.
