Darrell Conley was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Denver Burros. The third baseman was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Kansas City Bulls. Bob Crosby earned his 38th save in 43 chances. With the win, Kansas City upped its record to 83-67.

Conley had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 curveball from Dave Pelton, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Bulls a 6-5 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Conley.

Kansas City manager DD Martin was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
