Eagles Win, 6-3, at Cincinnati
Washington and Cincinnati duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.

Washington beat Cincinnati on the strength of starting pitcher Alex Fonseca's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Don McCoy recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 10 for 15.

Washington used a well-timed hit by Alan Cassill to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Alex was able to execute his pitches," said Washington manager Wally Christensen. "Simple as that."

At 68-83, Washington is in 5th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
