Philadelphia Shuts Out Eagles, Klug Winner
|
Philadelphia Quakers hurler Darrell Klug was at his best as he beat the Washington Eagles, 7-0.
"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said Washington manager Wally Christensen. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."
Klug, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1965 draft, fired a 4-hitter and totaled 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout performance.
