Drillers Need Extra Innings to Top Lords, 6-5
The Houston Drillers defeated the Baltimore Lords, 6-5, in 11 innings. Charlie Fee, who finished 5th in the NBL in RBI with 115 in 1970, played a big role. Fee went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Drillers in the win. Houston pitcher Jeff Ferguson got the win. He's now 11-3. Gilberto Rivera was tagged with the loss. With the win, Houston raised its record to 90-61.

The Drillers got a clutch hit from right fielder Jackie Frost. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Drillers.

"We earned that one," said Frost.
