The Denver Burros withstood an impressive performance by Los Angeles right fielder Jim Brookins to defeat the Blockbusters, 4-2, at Blockbuster Stadium. Brookins was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bob Langham earned his 26th save in 32 chances. The first-place Burros have won 7 in a row.

Denver used a well-timed hit by Frank Bohley to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Burros ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bohley said.
