Northmen Use Late Score to Top Generals, 6-5
|
Matt Legrow did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Atlanta Generals from being beaten, 6-5, to the Twin Cities Northmen at Atlantic Station Field. Legrow was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bob Cole earned his 19th save in 25 chances. After today's action, Twin Cities sits at 67-85; Atlanta slips to 80-72.
Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Len Emery to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Northmen on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Emery told the Twin Cities Times: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
