Fernando Lopez pitched a gem to lead Los Angeles to victory over the San Diego Captains, 7-1. The Blockbusters improved their record to 68-85 by beating San Diego.

Los Angeles catcher Steve Oubre helped the Blockbusters go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Oubre hit a run-scoring single off San Diego pitcher Ray McKenzie.
