Bobcats Nudge Past Bluebirds, 3-2
|
Jorge Sandoval pitched well, but his team, the Brooklyn Bluebirds, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Cleveland Bobcats at Lakefront Stadium. Tim Fried snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2.2 innings. He's now 9-4 on the season. Brooklyn has now lost 4 in a row.
Had Dan Foley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Foley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bobcats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Foley, "one at-bat at a time."
