Emeralds Scratch Out 1-0 Win
|
The Los Angeles Pobladores were defeated, 1-0, by the Seattle Emeralds at Puget Field, even though Dan Turner pitched well for Los Angeles. Mike Harris picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 9-9. Seattle is now 73-79.
The Emeralds got a big boost from third baseman Steve Wells who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Pobladores hurler Dan Turner. It was his 47th RBI of the season and put Seattle on top, 1-0.
"What we get, we earn," Wells told the Seattle News.
