Brown Dominates Baltimore
|
The Baltimore Lords manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Houston Drillers. The Lords were overpowered by Houston starter Mike Brown, who hurled his club to victory, 2-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Steve Read said.
Over 9 innings, Brown blanked Baltimore on 5 hits with 4 walks and 1 strikeout.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Brown said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
This season, Brown has worked 167.2 innings with 102 strikeouts en route to a 9-9 record and a 4.40 ERA.
