Seagulls Get Past Twin Cities, 5-4
The San Francisco Seagulls did just enough to nip the Twin Cities Northmen, 5-4, in 14 innings. San Francisco pitcher Tim Stambaugh, in particular, had a standout performance. Jimmy Trent notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 3-1. San Francisco raised its record to 89-63 with the win.

The Seagulls got a clutch hit from catcher Darrell Martin. In the bottom of the 14th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Seagulls.

"Tim -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Seagulls manager Al Borie. "He was the key to us winning."
