In a low-scoring affair between the Toronto Hurons and the New York Empires, pitcher Joe Scott was the difference between victory and defeat. The Toronto right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Hurons win. Don LeoGrande earned his 6th save in 14 chances. The Hurons raised their record to 60-93.
The Hurons got a big hit from center fielder Jorge Luna. In the bottom of the fifth, Luna pounded a run-scoring triple to right. His 2nd triple of the season put the Hurons ahead, 2-0.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Scott told the Toronto Bulletin. "And padding the Toronto win column."
