Wolverines Deal Hurons 4-1 Loss
|
Detroit and Toronto duked it out and the Wolverines came out victorious.
Detroit Wolverines starter Fred Harrison hurled his team past the Toronto Hurons, 4-1. The winner was Harrison. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Randy Robins. Darrell Klug, credited with the save, is now 25 for 28 in save opportunities.
Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Pete Morrison to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Morrison said after the game.
With the win, Detroit upped its record to 78-75.
