The Pittsburgh Industrials defeated the Chicago Traders, 3-1, in National Baseball League action at Union Field. Pittsburgh pitcher Jerry Zaruba had a standout performance. The first-place Industrials, at 103-51, lead the National Baseball League Eastern Division by 16½ games.

Alex Robinson, who is tied for 2nd in the NBL in home runs with 31, had a direct impact on the outcome. Robinson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 2-0.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
